Sunday was Nana’s (Tom’s mother) 80th Birthday. She didn’t want anything big, so we decided that we would all have a picnic/barbecue at an area along the Jersey side of the Hudson River.

Lots of the family – lots to show for Nana’s 80 years.
Here are a couple of water views from the park we were at.

Tom and I had the assignment for something to put the candles on. I thought it would be fun to have 80 cupcakes. Since I didn’t think there was anyway we would eat that many large cupcakes, we made mini cupcakes. I had the letter candles left over from my b-day party so I found the NANA and put them into the cupcakes.
Thank you Mary Anne… yet I'm fine … using the computer to stay in touch even far enough, is not it! It is necessary, life goes very quickly.
(I write with the computer !!!)

Hexagon queen. I bet she loves the bag.
Cheers to you – especially since you are on the computer and not letting life pass you by. Good luck in the coming 4 year! I only have 29 1/2 more.
Compliments for your Nana is a very nice lady (another 4 years and I like 80!). You've done a wonderful celebration and the idea of candles on the cake is great. Great bag hexagonal you have offered.

A few days before Nana's birthday I was visitng with her and she commented that she never dreamed that she would make it to 80 years old. The really amazing thing is how healthy and active she is. I am hoping to make it to 80 and beyond and be as alert and healthy as she is. That is why I Tom and I have joined a gym and working towards being more active.
What a great family!! Do you think we will make 80 years??
