I have decided to submit this quilt to Houston. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I have been playing (actually working pretty hard) to get just the right pictures to submit. What do you think?

The Generations Unite was quilted on my George from APQS – a longarm machine but I sit down and I love the fabric (no frame). I purchased him in Aug. 2008 and it was love at first stitch. You can read all about it on my George posts – http://www.newyorkquilter.com/search/label/George
Thanks for taking time to stop by.
I think the photos are great, and unique. I hope that it gets accepted. I am curious whether you machine embroidered it and if you quilted it on a short or long arm.
Mary Anne,
I noticed the article about your birthday quilt show on the "Quilt Show" website. I saw that your children were from Utah so I decided to read your blog.
What fun that turned out to be. First, I was born and raised in Rexburg. Your mother was one of my 4-H teachers, I think. My "old" memory fails me, but I'm thinking that she was a student teacher for one of my years in school——that's just really vague.
Anyway, our mother's were friends. I remember your parents fondly. I have sweet memories of your mother—-I thought she was the greatest and your dad was a gentle giant.
We are also related—through the Ricks family line. I think my mother and your father were cousins. My grandmother was Martha May Ricks Grover.
What a small world we live in—-your quilts are beautiful. Maybe I'll get to see your quilt in Houston this fall. We live in Fort Worth and our son and his family live in Houston. I try to go down to the quilt show, but always end up just staying with them—-can't bear to miss spending time with the grandbabies.
Thanks for a couple of enjoyable hours as I traveled through your blog.

Thanks for your kind words. I am not sure if they will even look at the green side photo. You are suppose to submit a picture of the entire quilt (which mean I need to submit two full size pictures) and a detail picture. I submitted pictures of both sides and detail of both sides. Have to see what happens. I am not buying tickets until I see what happens. But, if one of my quilts go to Houston – I AM GOING TO HOUSTON!!!!!
(I am also submitting Grandma’s Hexagarden to be considered.)
Mary Ann, I think the pictures are great. The only addition I can think to add, and I’m not sure that Houston will let submit more than front/back, is one that shows an entry about one of the generations on the green side of quilt. You can kind of see that something exists, but not really what.
Bought your ticket to Houston to see this hanging yet? Air fares are relatively reasonable and I bet you’ll need one. Good luck, aef
