Day 8

The PAINTING IS COMPLETE!!!!!!
You are right – this is a RED letter event! I have wanted the ceiling to be all WHITE for years! I am not sure why they left a few of the pipes unpainted, but I can take care of that.

What a difference from 10 years ago. When we moved into this house there were pretty yucky windows in the basement. They had old articles of clothing stuffed around them for insulation. I draped some larger sewing curtians that I had from Maryland just to cover up all the ugly stuff. Then when we decided to put new windows in the upstairs windows we deicded to just go ahead and do the basement windos also. I am really glad that we did that. They look soooooo much nices, but it is also nice to be able to open the windows and get some fresh air. Some time I will have to make a list of all the improvemnets we have made on this house since we have lived here.

*****The STAIRS*****

I hate how the dirt falls below all the stuff on the stiars. It gets really nasty under there. So, I want to close the stairs up. Tom is still not completly convinced about this project. But, his theory is – If I am happy, he is happy. So off to Home Depot we went last night to get the wood to close the stairs up. After looking at one type of wood he said that he didn’t know if he want to spend $50.00 to enclose the stairs, but I said that I did. So, we kept looking and located some other wood that will work just fine (and does not cost as much).

We had Home Depot cut the boards, but they didn’t get them quite short enough, so here is Tom sanding they smaller. But – way to much work, so next time he is going to use the saw.

Water Proofing the Walls
We are going to put the white waterproofing on all the walls, but before you can do that we need to remove the old stuff that has come loose. This part of the wall turned in to a disaster.
Look at the big hole, this will need more than the white stuff to fill this in. It will need the cement patch stuff. This will be tommorow’s project for me.
